1  Shipspotters all over the world / Help and Advice / Re: COPYRIGHT on: December 16, 2017, 09:39:30 pm
The most frustrating thing about copyright cheats like this is. As soon as you deal with one and get it sorted another one appears. In some cases its probably the same person with another ID.

Despite the best efforts its an impossible task.

Hi Everyone,

A friend of mine has researched and built a model of the British Rail Harwich to Hook ferry St George.
She was scrapped at Alang in 2000 as "Texas Treasure". He has a photographic record of the ship all except some photos of her demise at Alang. He would love to have some photos of her at her final resting place and is willing to pay a small fee for any sourced.

Please email me in first instance, thankyou

If you get onto the starboard side you can shoot everything as you go back and forth to the ferry berth in Maasvlakte, Pistolhaven and Landtong.

Did this twice recently.

You may be better staying somewhere at Ijmuiden? All traffic for Amsterdam and North Sea Canal passes by
Ijmuiden.

8  Shipspotters all over the world / Help and Advice / Re: Stolen photos on Instagram on: February 04, 2017, 11:22:16 am
Ok There seems not much we can do as Instagram and Facebook seem not to be bothered by image theft.
His accounts should be deleted along with all the photos. Whats his new ID? Will have to join Instagram I suppose again under another name if he has barred me

Hi Owen,

Its seems his shipspotter-68  ID is gone too I tried to find by using the normal link this morning.
Either Instagram have deleted it or he has changed name again. Will try and hunt him out again.

cheers

Instagram which is owned by Facebook don't appear to have any interest in closing this guys account despite the fact he is a serial copyright thief. He continues to download and post other photographers work on an almost daily basis. He ignores comments about this on his photos and so do Instagram.

Nothing we can do except what I have done and stopped posting photos on here for him to steal.

The stealing and posting of images on the Instagram account of Nader Zahra continues unabated.
Its obvious that Instagram have no intention of stopping this serial offender or suspending his account.
Until they do (which I doubt) I will not post images on Shipspotting.com for him to steal.
They have removed all mine and I will not give him any more to post as his own.

better than Instagram then as the guy on there is still uploading stolen photos.
Looks like Instagram will only take photos off if you complain and will not suspend the offenders account

Maybe I don't upload anymore photos anywhere?

I have received an email today saying that Instagram have removed my images from the rogue account.

Cannot understand how they still allow this man to still have an account as all his images are stolen.

Hi David,

Here is the last communications between myself and Instagram  in full.

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed explanation of what I need to do next. I am happy to see that already most of my photos have been deleted from the account of the copyright violator.
I presume he is fed up of my comments on them and has deleted them himself.

My name and address follow

Derek Sands
33 Portland Crescent,
Dovercourt,
Harwich,
Essex CO12 3QH
United Kingdom.

Phone 44 01255 507017

email delboy@sands1954.freeserve.co.uk  or omaratparkestonyard@yahoo.co.uk

I am an amateur Ship photographer who has several photos published and used by shipping companies such as Rickmers.

I was also a long time Webmaster on the specialist site Shipspotting.com  which has over 2 million photos on.

My rights that have been violated is that my photos are being used without my permission and being claimed as the posters own work.

The basis for claiming legal rights is that I am the photographer of each of the images and these are my intellectual property.

Links for my photos which are still illegally on instagram posted by Nader Zahra

https://www.instagram.com/p/BOHo7f5htzF/?taken-by=nader_zahra&hl=en

and my photo posted on Shipspotting.com

and my photo on Shipspotting.com

http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2571006

There were at least another 10 images which have been recently removed.

However you will be receiving multiple copyright claims against this account as none of the photos are taken by the poster and most are copied from Shipspotting.co.
I will be contacting the owner of Shipspotting.com and the forum on the site contains already a thread pertaining to this multiple copyright violator. Members are being
advised to contact instagram direct.

I declare, under penalty of perjury, that all of the information contained in my notice is accurate and that the claimed use of my intellectual property described above, in the manner I have complained of, is not authorised by the rights owner, its agent or the law, and that I am the rights owner .

best regards

Update, most of my photos have been removed I take it by the poster due to some of my comments on them.

The rest I have claimed copyright for and have demanded Instagram remove them, have had a email back stated various elements to allow them to proceed.

I have warned them that I believe 100% of the copyright violators postings are not his and they will be receiving more claims from members of this website.

I await their response but encourage others to go down this path to have their images removed from this rogue account. I have suggested that the account be closed.
