From their record, I would have no 'Great Expectations' for the service...

after the unmitigated disaster of using this type (Heap seemed an appropriate name)on the Hythe - Southampton run, you are most welcome to using them to cross the Thames.

couldn't agree more Pieter, far too many people just upload pics with very few details and some seem too idle to enter the most basic information, even date of photograph

Sometime ago before the CSCL merger the COSCO web-site announced the first 3 from SWS whould be called COSCO Creation, Wisdom and Explorer.  I wonder if they will retain these names.  Certainly a 420m. box boat would be some creation but I am concerned about the wisdom of this venture...

The bulker Florentia IMO 9714666 suffered a 4 metre gash in her port hull after colliding with the dock wall whilst moving from the KGV dock to 108/9 berth in Southampton on Saturday 25th.

Video of the incident taken by my mate Phil Kempsey features on Mail on Line.

We already have one of their wrecks in port, Honor, which had a fire on board in the Channel on 24 February and returned to Southampton, and in June 2015, Courage suffered the same fate which lead to her scrapping.  Seems to me they are not doing very well...

just noted this thread - seems it is not just an isolated case.

It has happened to my photo of INS Sindhurakshak, which I have now changed back.  How can this happen?

Down here at Southampton, Suzuka Express and Asian Breeze both got as far as Cowes and then turned around to anchorages.   Red Jet fast ferries cancelled this morning and Southsea - Ryde hovercraft sailings cancelled.

in correspondence on e-bay he is still refusing to accept the pic. being used is my copyrighted photo taken in 1997 - SOME TIME before he even owned the thing.  I have a mobile number and will give him a call tomorrow but I think it will probably end in a slanging match.   He can use it if he pays me a fee, if not he will remain in breach of copyright.   Had he asked, I may even have let him use it for free !!

Just found my picture of Suncrest being used in a advert for its sale on e-bay.  I suppose interesting that it is up for sale, but the seller is claiming they were given the picture with copyright on it !!! and also claiming I breached their copyright by photographing the tug.  I do not believe the current owner actually owned the ship 20 years ago when I took the photo, but it is interesting they feel their tug is copyrightable (if that is a word).

This idea is totally against what was agreed some time ago - it has always been the case that photographs posted before site standards were set would remain - there would be NO retrospective deletions.  Are you now suggesting this should change?

I for one would be against this move, not only because it would create more angst with members, but could also lead to some interesting photos being deleted

On my photo database of her I have the following :

rescued by Harwich lifeboat, Albert Brown on 06:02:2015 after suffering engine failure when 30 miles East of Harwich.  Eventually towed into port after tow line broke 3 times in Force 9 gales.

so not the first time she has been in trouble
