1  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Re: Is there a site problem? on: Yesterday at 04:43:10 pm
Agree with many of the comments that the problem seems to come from ads.  What is confusing for a former Supporter is that we were supposed to be ad free if we provided support!!!?Huh??
2  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Discontinuing Site Support until safe again on: June 20, 2018, 05:24:12 pm
Hi all

Still getting the Malware riskware warning using laptop PC with windows 10.  Any idea when the offending code will be removed?  My monthly support is being stopped until this site is safe to open. Huh

Hope the Chinese can rescue all the crewmen, from both ships, and successfully contain any unburnt fuel.

Hi
Has anyone looked at the source code?  There is a googlead code line that shows on a page with no ads.  Maybe it is that code line or some other errant code line that is triggering the Coinhive malware warning???  Huh Huh Huh Huh

10  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Malware warning - Coinhive on: October 17, 2017, 04:40:44 pm
Hi
FYI...about the site...my malware protection keeps giving me a warning about one of the sponsors or addresses that shows up on the Shipspotting home page.
11  Shipspotters all over the world / Shipping News and information / Re: Destroyer USS Fitzgerald Collides with Philippine Merchant Ship; At Least 1 Sail on: June 17, 2017, 09:52:02 pm
Just based on the photos posted, it would appear that the USS Fitzgerald commanding officer may have some serious explaining to do Huh because of the damage to the starboard side of the Fitz and the port side damage to the merchant ship makes it appear that the Fitz may have violated the right-of-way navigation requirement.

BUT --

Much more information is needed and presumably a full investigation will answer the many serious questions that are yet to be answered.

Stay tuned.

Is there any corrective action afoot to use another data source for this site?

Albeit a long standing problem with others, if this is a repeat to some of other discussion, just ignore; but, this is the first time for me to discuss a faulty data source.

Of my 1600+ photos, the error in vessel and technical inform, for Pacific Treasures, is my first encounter with this Gross Tonnage data source error problem!

What data source are other shipspotting sites using?
14  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Re: Error in Ship indentification on: August 27, 2016, 09:08:50 pm
Nope Ken
As usual, incorrect, the long standing problem you say that everyone is supposed to know about regarding the source of data is and has always been unknown to me.

But, since a problem that continues, is somehow OK because it has a long life and is therefore, acceptable to those who can correct the problem..... well, excuse me for trying to make the site better!!

I will continue to ignore what the forum discusses since problems brought there don't get resolved there but only the messenger gets chastised.

Sooo.... incorrect data stays on because the source; Gross Tonnage, has incorrect information?

That's the explanation for keeping incorrect technical and vessel information?

Here is Pacific Treasures properly described on Marine Traffic:

Marine Traffic properly describes Pacific Treasures; why not Shipspotting???
