92  Shipspotters all over the world / Shipping News and information / IMO numbers for Rigs on: September 19, 2015, 07:40:31 pm
Can anyone shed light on how IMO numbers are assigned to Rigs.
I noticed that, before, IMO numbers for rigs always stared with an 8, or even 87 as the first two digits irrespective when they were built; the 80ties, 90ties or this century.
Now the Maersk Integrator, latest maersk rig, has IMO number 9664627 while sister rigs stil have numbers starting with 87.
Did IMO abolish the system with an 8 for rigs or how does this work?
Cheers,
Roy

Hi Vlad,
Yeah that's a nice one, of course there's a lot of misinformation (as always).
But I'm talking of a picture/drawing of our own corporate info, and I expect, maybe silly, that to be correct.....
Hi Herbert,
I don't think those times will be back, though you never can be sure. But nowadays it's al about the amount of CO2 per teu/mile, so they rather prefer to overestimate.
p.s. two years ago the calendar showed a 3E with complete different bay-configuration then the real ones, but at least the amount of 40ft bays was correct at that time  Wink

Cheers,
Roy

Hi all,
400m in length means 24 40ft bays long.
In the corporate information received about the new ships they put a drawing of the "next generation 3E" with 27 40ft bays.
Probably someone with no knowledge at all was allowed to make the corporate flyer, or...........

Roy

Anyone any update?
I assume she will be there for a while. But for instance is the crane-boom already removed and/or has the water already been pumped out?
Here on board the news is scarce....
Cheers,
Roy
98  Shipspotters all over the world / Shipping News and information / Re: Propeller for 10.000 TEU Maersk-newbuilding ? on: February 19, 2006, 08:26:25 pm
Hi guys,
This new propellor will be for L-203 yard-number newbuilding coming allready halway this year. It will be propelled by a 14RT-flex96 Sulzer main engine (thus 14 cylinder). Extra propulsion power can be added by a schaft-motor. A feature Maersk already applied on their M-serie end 1980thy's.
Yard numeber 202 coming next may will be a "norma" G-class vessel.
Calculated speed will be around 26 knots (service speed).
Roy (Maersk-line)
