1  Shipspotters all over the world / Shipping News and information / Re: ships sold for scrap on: May 14, 2018, 05:56:03 pm
Hey folks,

"Star Bright" is still alive! Recently reported to be sold to Chittagong she dropped anchor off Colombo a few days before and is heading for Dubai now. Already got a very innovate name "Brighten" for her final voyage when she left Singapore ...

Does anybody have a clue what her coming purpose is? I shouldn't be surprised at all when she is going for Dubai Dry Docks!

Thanks in advance,
Max

3  Shipspotters all over the world / Shipping News and information / Tall Ships Race 2016 Antwerp - any consequences for merchant shipping? on: July 08, 2016, 08:31:56 am
Hi shipspotting community,

the Tall Ships Race 2016 takes place in Antwerp this weekend. Do we have to expect some restrictions on merchant shipping after this weekend? I guess not but maybe some professionals from the Western Scheldt can confirm my assumption.

Thank you in advance!
4  Shipspotters all over the world / Shipping News and information / "Berge Fjord" notified for Rotterdam on: August 03, 2015, 05:38:16 pm
Hello shipspotting community,

Berge Fjord is calling Rotterdam once again within the next weeks. She has finished bunkering operation at the Canaries this morning and is actually heading for north. I still can't believe that one of the oldest VLOC in service is about to visit a northern european port precisely because her sistervessel "Berge Vik" recently ended on a beach and they both plied between Brazil and China in times past.

All the better, certainly the last chance to catch this beauty here. Fingers crossed, a first ETA is given 9.08 1400.

Best regards
Max

These words are addressed to shipspotters in and around Vancouver.
I will visit your city in august for a few days and of course, to see some vessels is a firm intention by me.

So if anybody of you is intetested in giving me some information about places to be or anything else I should do and see during my time there I would love to come in contact with you. Maybe we can meet to have a few hours together ...

Cheers!

Hey shipspotters,
Overnext week I will visit Singapore for sightseeing. If weather allows, I will spend one day or more for shipspotting, of course.
I talked to some friends, they told me to stay on Kusu Island to spott vessels heading for and coming from the Malacca Strait and to see the portentrance. Furthermore my plan includes to visit Sentosa via boat.
Does anybody have some more ideas where to go and to stay for shipspotting, some special places or harbour cruises and so on ?! What about private chartering of a watertaxi to cross the roads ?!
I'm grateful for every suggestion of you !

So the ball's in your court now ;-)
Thank you in advance
regards Max
