Dear all.

It is with great sorrow that I have to announce, that our good friend and shipphotographer Ivan Egeriis has passed away after a short period of illness.
His ash was scattered in the water outside of his home on the island of Samsų, Denmark.

May he rest in peace, on the seven seas.

Best regards.
Jesper T Andersen.

Hi.

Found out today that two of my favorite tankers has left the blue ocean, and gone to the Gadani Beach Shocked(

Does enyone have photos of them from the time before the end, and is there eny one who has sailed on them and have some photos from inside. Tervi was the first ship i ever took a photo of back in 1994 here in Fredericia.
Would be very happy to get in contact with some one who can tell me more history about then, will make a memory place on my website later on.
Champion Arctic (ex-Tervi). IMO 8402333
Champion Polar (ex-Palva) IMO 8414570

R.I.P.

Hi.

To Neslo, your right, hope the new project will run good on Lindo.

To Tynesider, you are also right, the shipyard in Fredericia is moving to Odense Lindo, but the one floating back now will also be sold, within 2 months i thinks the yard will be gone. The ground were the shipyard is located and on the otherside of Gl Havn a small basin, there was years ago a big fertilizer factory, the area was sold by or local city gov to a company who wants to build apartments and shops around 140.000 m2.  But in and around the 140.000 m2 there is a problem, Shell has the crudeoil terminal and the product / LPG-LNG pier under 500 meters from were the city company wants to build. The company got the messege last week that it is now impossible to build on the 140.000 m2 becuse of the fire security, but the shipyard that was kick out of the city is moving now, to late to do enything, now Fredericia gets the worlds biggest SANDBOX and a bill on 300 mio dkr or 40 million euro from the company bougt the 140.000 m2 land in the port were the not can build enything. Shit happens everyday

Here today 08/08-2010 is a day of mourning for an otherwise very proud shipyard town Fredericia. Fredericia Shipyard Dock 1 left here Sunday afternoon the city's proud shipyard to go out on a journey down to Besiktas Group family yard just south of Istanbul. Dock 1 which has been completely renovated, "however lacking some new paint" is to be used as Repair dock at Besiktas new shipyard only a few years old.
There were greeted so many people up to take leave of the dock and you could clearly feel and hear the people that it was with great shame that we now see the shipyard move to Odense Lindo, but we can unfortunately only thank our dear old town council for that.
On the tour that goes around Skagen to the English Channel, there comes one more tug to assist aft, it will follow  through the English channel, Biscay Bay and around the Strait of Gibraltar then Carlo Martello continues alone the rest of the way through the Mediterranean up to Turkey .
There are under the whole trip five men onboard the dock to fit generators and pumps etc, they were equipped with food and drink and residential container.
Eta for the dock and the tug is 08/09-2010 at the Turkish shipyard.

Boring day for a ship photographer to see how your hobby disappears, however, there was a very fun thing shown in the picture, namely a giant Turkish flag that was set Saturday morning, so we were then in no doubt where it was going

Good trip south and Thanks for all the ships you have dock and made it possible to capture with the camera.
See the photo her www.jtashipphoto.dk

If someone gets eny photo of the dock under the trip please let me now.

Regards Jesper

11  Shipspotters all over the world / Help and Advice / Re: Locations in Denmark? on: July 15, 2010, 05:10:52 pm
Hi.
Port Of Fredericia is a great place to take photos, there is open in the old eastern part of the port, you can stand 200 meters from the Shell Oil Terminal, 25 meters from Fredericia Shipyard,, 2 floating docks, and you can right now see the newbuilding Capesize Bulker EPIC. You can also visit the south part of the port where you can see ships at the container terminal, and other general cargo ships, the traffic in Lillebaelt is good and there is lots of ships to see. Also look by at Vejle and Kolding there is good space to take photos.
When you are in the north part af Jutland visit also Frederikshavn, the port is almost open every where, also very nice place.
Best regards
Jesper
