Mistery Solved?

The both of you are correct since SNAV is an MSC subsidary!

Cedric and others,

According to ZEDIS data, she left from 704, the second Swedish Quay berth, if you start counting from the northern bridge of the lock.
She probably used the floating pontoon and you should be able to photograph her during the day from that bridge.

I wonder why Transfennica has choosen for Zeebrugge, as their other berth in Belgium is in Antwerp. From a trans-shipment point of view, it seems more logical to start a new service to Spain from their Antwerp base rather then from Zeebrugge. Does any Transfennica Specialist know the logics behind this?

Yes, she did receive new paintwork. She has a blue hull and blue funnel. "SCNM" is written in the same blue on both sides forward on the white superstructure.
I saw her in Antwerp Ship Repair last Sunday, Feb 11, and the painting was well underway, but not finished.
She was, unfortunately, in an impossible place to photograph behind trees and a concrete wall (right behind the "Spek en Eieren" restaurant for those who know the port).

Cheap Hotel along Kiel Canal

A really cheap alternative along the Kiel Canal is the Burger Fahrhaus in Burg.

Burg is situated about 10 km NE of Brunsbuttel and about 2 km from the canal, but the hotel is along the canal at the ferry. It is a German/Chinese restaurant, probably with Chinese owners. The restaurant (with canal view) is OK, the rest of the place is a bit run down.

There are about 4 rooms and you have to share the bathroom with other guests. The rooms are basic, no TV, no internet but with a bed and heating.... Many guests are shiplovers from Germany, Netherlands and Scandinavia.

I stayed there earlier this year and paid 30 euro's per night for a single room including breakfast. Not bad when you only need a room to sleep and recharge your camera.

Burger Fahrhaus
Hafenstrasse 48
25712 Burg
04825 24 17

(I don't think they had e-mail when I booked)

In the summer, you have to book well in advance!
