John

I heard that they were going to use a trimaran like this

ShipSpotting.com

Robert J Smith

originally introduced by White Horse Ferries on the route years ago.

I thought they had problems with the currents then!

Hi Colwyn

With regard to ship movements, its worth noting on arriving vessels that NESPP times are a couple of hours before they pass Canvey and the SUNKP times are 3 - 4 hours before.
eg: SUNKP 0800 means round midday at Canvey

As David says, the Esplanade is good for all movements but the sun can be a problem. The cafe was open the other week and quite reasonably priced and its right on the seafront. The adjacent car park only cost a max of 2 (pay & display). Just follow the road signs for the seafront.
It can be a bit windy so wrap up warm.

At a slight tangent, I note Smit & Kotug tugs in or heading to Southampton

SMIT TIGER & SD SALVOR already there, ZP BOXER en-route in the channel.

New contract?

Thanks guys, got the same info from other sources  Smiley

Pity I didn't pick them up a couple of hours earlier, could have got down to Chatham and caught them under their original names  Angry

Two St Vincent registered tugs SVITZER HELENA & SVITZER CELIA in the Thames Estuary this morning bound for Chatham Docks on the Medway, any info about them or their visit?
Their track shows them inbound via the English Channel

Why have all the UK Border Force vessels, apart from a couple of recently posted photos, had their prefix "HMC" removed from the title?
All earlier photos of them in the Customs & Excise role still have the prefix HMCC in the titles.

Thanks David, all back to normal now.
