The only requirement is to add the location in the description if the location is not in the drop down box.As for the ships history most members don't have that info available to them.

Hello Juergen, photos of a ship with tugs or bunker boats attached to it are not obstructed as such as they are working with the ship, but if the tugs or bunker boat were passing pass the ship and not assisting the ship yes the photo is obstructed.

As for Marine Traffic it does only one thing good and its good at it,live shipping map as for its photos well no comment  Wink

Just my thought, if the trees and landscape were not covered in snow would we be having this discussion ?.... probable not  Wink just because the trees are covered in snow doesn't make it any less obstructed.
7  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Re: When will this site be SECURE? on: August 17, 2018, 10:19:07 pm
Not on my PC... still getting this warning Not secure.
Hello Oldkayker,
We have already said in the old thread that websites with http now show up as not secure, it doesn't mean the site is not safe it only mean that passwords etc may not be secure.I  really cant see a issue with that as shipspotting doesn't have any of our personal info only a password to log on and a lot of members don't even use there real names as the site only asks for a user name.

9  Shipspotters all over the world / Trip reports / Re: You Know Your A Shipspotter If... on: August 13, 2018, 10:09:46 pm
A: I never have to travel for more than an hour to see a ship.. (20 minutes is the max, and exercising on the bike gives me ample opportunity to see more than one ship)
B: When I sit at the water the main purpose is to read a good book, interupted by occasional maritime passings)
C: I won't be carrying four kilo's of camera any time.
D: My mother always warned me not to talk to strangers.
E: Not that I remember.
F: I do like photography.

I see I'm not the only one that rides a bicycle to photograph ships. Grin

The HC- V770 is a nice camera Chris,It was one of the cameras I looked at to replace my Sony PJ-280.
I ended up getting the Sony AX-33 solely because of its 4K capability and itís balanced optical steadyshot which is second to none among compact video cameras.
