David, the 90 hits from inward links + some standard hits from being on this site made it appear in the top three. Being there did the rest..
Sharing generates hits to reach top 3 postion very quickly. If 1 of the hits also generates a comment, you hit the jackpot. Again.

How do we tell how many hits are from the site and how many via a link ?

9  Shipspotters all over the world / Help and Advice / Re: Copyright marking of all photos on: November 07, 2016, 09:43:16 pm
Hi everyone ,

Even having a copyright banner at the bottom someone can just crop the photo to remove the copyright banner, likewise with watermarks the advent of Photoshop etc they can be removed and you cant even tell it was there.

Cheers,Paul

13  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Re: Error in Ship indentification on: August 27, 2016, 06:12:27 am
Huh???
Your Gross Tonnage observation seems way out of line with the error in description of Pacific Treasures.

The definition of gross tonnage provided by a GOOGLE search is the following:  "...Gross tonnage (often abbreviated as GT, G.T. or gt) is a nonlinear measure of a ship's overall internal volume. Gross tonnage is different from gross register tonnage. Neither gross tonnage nor gross register tonnage should be confused with measures of mass or weight such as deadweight tonnage or displacement..."

 Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

How does your gross tonnage remark relate to the mis-identification of Pacific Treasures?
Oldkyaker as its been said before the ADMIN are NOT responsible for the info.

Not sure what you mean but I can still upload photos Huh, I know the ads can be a pain but without them we wouldn't have this site. You can always upgrade your membership and get the ad free version of this site.

Hi Pieter,

This shot in the link is one at almost full 50x optical zoom taken with the SONY HX400V from a moving ferry www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2502169 Al I have done to the photo was crop and sharpen a bit. I let everyone be the judge but for a camera around $500-600 Aust dollar it does all right. I am at a guess you can you use a monopod I use a tripod with it for night shoots.
