2  Shipspotters all over the world / Shipping News and information / Ships radar antenna - Kiel Canal on: May 21, 2018, 07:51:02 am
Hi,
Does anyone knows if there is any reason to ships turn off the radar antenna when they are in the locks of Kiel Canal?
I see on the page of Kiel Canal  that, when the ships are in the locks (Kiel and Brunsbüttel), they usually have the radar switched off.
Regards,
Ricardo Bruno

According to some media in Portugal, Betanzos is already free and is being towed to Lisbon harbour.
For example: http://expresso.sapo.pt/sociedade/2018-03-16-Tejo.-Navio-que-estava-encalhado-em-Lisboa-ja-flutua#gs.vlp6FTc

Maybe the more powerful tug will be the Fairmount Alpine (IMO 9344784):

Thanks for your reply, Tuomas.
Some years ago it was easy answer to my question… Knock Nevis!

Hello everyone,

I have a doubt... Currently in service, which is the longest ship in the world? I'm not sure if it is the Barzan (IMO 9708851).
As I know that the Prelude (IMO 9648714) is referred as a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG), when she is in service, cannot be described as a ship, if I'm not mistaken.

Thank you,

Ricardo Bruno
