Title: C2C Astralis/ Arx
Post by: owen connolly on April 09, 2011, 04:12:51 PM
This containership used to be called C2C Astralis, after ending the Warrenpoint > Waterford > Zeebrugge that she was on she was laid up in Rotterdam for a while before moving to Tillbury last January where her AIS started to show her new name Arx. Ais has been transmitting on and off and I was wondering if anyone had any information on her or if there are any plans for her future,
Many thanks in advance,
Owen.

Owen,

She was owned by a partnership which included Belgium's Cobelfret Group. Since she arrived at Tilbury, Cobelfret purchased their partner's shares and now own 100%. She is tentatively for sale and has been since she arrived for lay up, but Cobelfret are not keen sellers unless market levels improve. They are hedging their bets really, waiting for the right sale or the right charter to come along, until such time she will remain laid up.

Brgds
Phil

She  has moved to Radicatel in France in the past few days and is now moving out from the port, but no destination showing as of yet, hopefully a new lease of life for her after her long layup, also many thanks for the info on the subject.

Informed sources state she is starting a new service from Radicatel to Dublin.

Geoff,
Informed sources seem to be correct.
She is now (Saturday afternoon) mid-channel, en route to Dublin

She must be replaceing the smaller Marus which was running this route for C2C Lines and continued through to today when Marus went to Rotterdam from Dublin bypassing Radicatel.
Rgds Owen.
