Post by: Dean Porter on August 11, 2008, 08:59:10 PM
CBC News reported today that the Sekme and Tremani (Lithuanian Shrimp Trawlers) which were abandoned in 2001-2002 in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland will be towed to Port Colbourne, Ontario and scraped at a cost of $1.6 million to the Canadian Government.
According to the CBC,  Marine Recycling Corp of Port Colbourne won the contract. The government is saying that the vessels should be gone from Bay Roberts by Thansgiving.
