Title: New ships to be built in Poland
Post by: Will Murray on August 05, 2005, 08:28:31 AM
A new ship for Caledonian Macbrayne shall be built in Poland, Stacznia Remontowa. She shall be the sister ship of the MV Bute which was completed there earlier on this year.

Also a fishery protection patrol boat shalll be built at the same yard for the Scottish Fishery Protection authority.

Both of these ships had been hoped to be built in Fergusons Port Glasgow, but have gone to Remontowa instead, possibly leading to the closure of one of Britains lst commercial shipbuilders.
