I do not get a response if I click on a photograph recently uploaded or on a Comment on the Home page
I use Firefox and Chrome for shipspotting.com
Other sites do not manifest this
Does anyone else have this experience?

I'm finding it is taking up to a minute to load a photo after selecting it. Also using Firefox.

it takes about 1-2 minutes for a picture to open. Last night I experienced the same problem, and sometimes got the ominous message : "too many connections". I checked the number of people online and there were about 70 at that time, which is a low number.
-
I have notified our IT man of the problems being had and await his reply.

Hi there,
Yes, same here and very slow uploading
-
I discovered that it also happens when you search for a certain ship with google. If Google (or any search engine) finds a photo of that ship on SS and you click on the link, the site will load extremely slowly. (Not when you open the site the normal way) All other functionalities, such as this forum, seem to work without problems.
-
I have the same problem, sinds yesterday.Cant open my photo's.I use also Firefox.
-
Mine's gotten worse. Can't download anything. Can only (just) get onto the forum.
-
When I click I can connect in more or less one out of 5 attempts.(Database error: Too many connections)
Uploading is very slow and also needs several attempts.
Even getting to this forum was nearly impossible.
-
Me too and still happening today.
-
it is now 22.45 CET and the site seems to be working properly again.
-
Just tried accessing previously uploaded photo(s) and site not responding (Eastern Canada). Basically same issues as reported by other members....
-
A bit better at present - but still 70secs to open a new front page photo, and intermittent "server busy" type responses when navigating in Forum.
So not right yet (23:51 GMT)
Still awaiting progress report from IT.
-
It is now 5.55am and having same problems like others, cannot access my photos infos, etc.
Hope something being done seriously as we arte having more issues than ever lately.
Thanks beforehand to all concerned in remedying this problem.

Probably I may have spoken too soon, I am experiencing the same slowness as earlier, perhaps when I tried last night there was very little traffic, so viewing thumbnails worked instantaneously.
-
While regarding photos I find a message in the lower left edge of my monitor:
"UTIIL1 Database Error :"
Perhaps this is one reason that the system is slow?
-
I am also experiencing long delays in viewing photos, some are taking over ten minutes to be displayed.I appreciate that it is difficult to meet everyones expectation on a site such as this and trust the tech staff will rectify it in a timely manner, in the mean time, a nice cup of tea is called for...
-
Not just a cup of tea Anthony. How about two milk chocolate digestives with a delightful mug of your finest chai ! That would go down a treat whilst waiting for the site repair. Us Brits know how to live !! ;-)
-
I just had this error message come up when trying to post to Forum which it eventually did after a couple of attempts !
Database Error: Got error 28 from storage engine
File: /www/www/smf1/Sources/Subs-Post.php
Line: 1410
Hope this helps.

Same here, very long time to load a photo if at all. Using Firefox.
-
Hi,
Yes, it's a supportive server that shouldn't really be critical that has problems. We will try to get it solved today.
Regards,
Henrik

Accessing SS from work using Chrome, all seems to be working fine :)
Thanks
-
Yes indeed,all fine,thanks very much
-
Not quite everything... you can't search photos by a certain photographer. The drop-down menu only shows "All photographers ", in "photo search" and in "advanced search", too.
-
Thank you, Henrik for following up and updating this forum
The errant server seemed mainly to block access to members' profiles. That seems OK now.
(Like Jens, just noticed that the Members dropdown not working)
-
Hi all,
Things seem to be improving. A slight delay when clicking on a link to load a photo for view but apart from that it looks like things getting
back to normal.
Thanks for sorting out problems.
:D :D
-
Accessed it from home now using Firefox, all well :)
Thank you
-
Thanks ,appears to be working much better now, kind Regards to all involved.
-
Everything back to normal, due thanks to everyone on this recovery.
best regards and thanks

not wanting to spoil the party, but there are still slow reactions on the site, (opening photographs, the search engine) not as much as before and not as frequent, but still not as it should be.
-
Advanced search still does not fully download.
-
Agreed. There is only spasmodic response to clicks at the moment.
-
Same problem, more of an irritation that anything. If you persist, you eventually get through.
-
Same here. Advanced Search seems to function OK, but some dropdowns a bit slow sometimes.
Results seem to come up OK
Please post here if it gets worse.
