Title: Sun Essex IMO 7529067
Post by: Jens Boldt on October 27, 2019, 12:08:42 pm
Hi all,

I'm just trying to update my ship data regarding broken up vessels/total losses.

Equasis has the tug SUN ESSEX, IMO 7529067, as "broken up during 2019".

Does anyone happen to know where and when exactly she was broken up?

Thanks for the help.

Cheers
Jens

In good shape at La Coruña in 12/2012

Two tank barges in tow from Rotterdam to Lagos - SAPPHIRE and FRISIUS.  Latter broke in two in Biscay.
Later continued from La Coruña to Lagos
22/1/2013 arrested by owner of FRISIUS at Lagos

Legal cases went on in Rotterdam and Lagos until at least 2015 between tugowner Sovlot BV and Bensam Maritime & Gas Ltd (owner of FRISIUS), maybe never resolved.

Chas, David, thanks for the info.

So maybe she found her end at Lagos if she still was under arrest there in 2019 because of the pending legal cases...
