Title: EU or ENI
Post by: Russell Judge on August 03, 2019, 08:45:32 AM
It does not seem to happen often but I was about to post "Francisca" when I noticed on Binnenvaart that when I searched under 06004256, the resulting vessel had a differnet EU number (02321408)
What is the differene and do we stick to ENI on the submission page?

Thanks

Both ENI and EUR numbers are the same system.
It used to be that when an inland vessel changed flag it was given a new number with the relevant natonal prefix.  Just a few years ago that was changed so that the same ENI is retained from then onwards.  02xxxxxx numbers are Dutch. 06xxxxxx numbers are Belgian.

FRANCISCA began life as the Dutch JANTINA (2321408, before they added the leading zero), but was then LINJAD and PELAGUS under Belgian flag (so new number allocated 06004256).  Since she came back under Dutch flag as FRANCISCA in 2017 she has kept the Belgium-originated number.

Both http://www.debinnenvaart.nl/schip_detail/4956/ (http://www.debinnenvaart.nl/schip_detail/4956/) and https://www.binnenvaart.eu/motorvrachtschip/4621-jantina.html (https://www.binnenvaart.eu/motorvrachtschip/4621-jantina.html) show the original and current numbers.
It is the current ENI that should be inserted for new photos.

Many thanks for that clarification.
If I find two different numbers, I will use the ENI.
