Title: History Afloat: Coasting voyage up the Thames aboard Mark Prior.
Post by: chrisg46 on July 07, 2019, 10:45:03 AM
Join Shipping TV's Chris Gosling for a voyage from the River Colne near Colchester to Brewers Wharf, Deptford Creek, on the Thames, filmed in 2015 aboard the 1969-built aggregate carrier Mark Prior, owned by J. J. Prior.
The skipper, Captain Peter Barc, has a wide knowledge of the River Thames, its traffic and history, and points many historic and memorable places on the river. Its also a rare opportunity to experience aspects of a voyage aboard a proper old-fashioned coaster, single screw, no bow thruster, with every manoeuvre carried out using the master and mate's ship-handling and ropework skills and knowledge.
This films runs for approximately 39 minutes
