Title: Scrubbers - an anti view
Post by: davidships on June 25, 2019, 12:20:46 PM
For those with an interest in the reduction of sulphur emissions, Paddy Rogers/Euronav's views on scrubbers (that have turned funnels into brutalist monstrosities) caught my eye:

There has been a phase in my life where I was sometimes involved in trying to convince shipowners that they had options to improve the environment and avoid large scale pollution. The arguments now brought forward by the ex-Euronav man remind me very much of what I had to listen to back then. (and which turned out  to be Dinosaur language.)

If the scrubbers make your eyes hurt, then ask the shipowners then to burn low sulphur fuel oil or LNG..
