Title: Best viewpoints for Bristol docks, please?

Off for a trip to Bristol soon - could local experts advise on the best viewpoints for Royal Portbury and Avonmouth dock entrances, please?

I've been up on Battery Point at Portishead previously, but wondered if there were places close to the dock entrances to get a better view.

I am sure I have read from other shipspotters that Portishead is the best vantage point.

To see ships passing Portishead google Bristol Port Co - Forwards movements and see the PO time - picking up pilot -- ships would pass Portishead approx 1/2 hours later - or ships in dock and see Po time fpr ships leaving.

I live in Portishead, the best place to go to is the Portishead Marina. You get a good view of both Portbury and Avonmouth Docks

Possett, can you get out along the finger pier at the marina, please? It that where you mean?

The gate is locked by a code number, but you can still get a good view from the gate. some fishermen do have the code, so you might be lucky if there's anybody there when you arrive

Nice shots! I'll take a look on Wednesday or Thursday and see what I can find.
