Hi everyone,
Does anyone know why numerous locations are still not available on the site? For example ports in Montenegro; there are hundreds of beautiful photos on the site taken by Drago Brdar and other photographers in Boka Kotorska bay and other Montenegrin ports

Hi Luko,
The admin team have asked many times for these to be added.
There are many locations not in the menu, its not confined to Montenegro.
I will follow it up again.

Indeed there are many ports / locations worldwide not available in the menu.

How do new ports make it onto the website? I always thought that when a photograph was uploaded in a port that wasnt on the site, thats when the admins would add the port. Maybe I am wrong? Or is there more to it than that?

Hi there,
I was asking long time ago for locations in China. Even I offered help, but till now no answer. Almost all locations around Shanghai, around the Yangtze River, around Zhoushan are not avaiable. Even not the Shipyards. Thats why a lot of building places are wrong and does not comply with the vessels certificates.
When somebody will take action and rectify it? I still offer help because I'm working here and I have thousands of ships which I cannot upload dur to missing shipyards and locations ...

Unfortunately the admin team cannot add the locations.
I will follow it up yet again with our technical man who can add them I beleive.

Hello together
long time ago I asked also about this matter. For me as a seafarer it would be also good to have some important nautical (places) mentioned in the locations menue.
As example
Malacca Strait
Strait of Hormuz
Biscay
Juan de Fuca Strait
Gulf of Aden
Bab el Mandeb
and others
In my opinion it should be no problem for the responsible person to transfer the details of the places where the the picture was shot to the Locations data list, or I am wrong.

I notice that New York/New Jersey areas have been added since I last looked (some time ago) although photos under "New York & New Jersey United States" do not link together when clicked. Other locations in this area link together OK.

Hi Bob,
They have always been there but a problem preventing them from automatically generating was sorted by Henrik. Its not the first time apparently there has been this problem.
As for the request by Andreas I am not sure how much work it is to add locations to the database. I will ask Henrik about this (again).

If they could add a couple more from Croatia like: Vranjic,Solin,Trogir and Kastel Sucurac.

Hi all,
Great to see someone has opened this thread. Same goes for adding "Henderson, Western Australia". I have to put it in as "Kwinana" which it isn't. There are some that could be removed too such as Busselton, it is a smallish marina and nothing more.

Our friends in Montenegro and visitors have been waiting patiently for the whole country to be recognised!
I am sure that Kotor, Bar and Bijela would be welcome for starters.

From my side also I have to add some not available locations in Piraeus area/perfecture,such as Salamis Island, Aegina Island , Poros Island.

As I have said many times whilst I was Webmaster it is on the "To Do list", It was originally intended to cover Major ports worldwide but New York is still missing.!!!!
It is as you know a Drop Down list which is quite extensive and now has quite a number of obscure location added as opposed to Ports.
Hopefully the Webmasters can sort this out but if all the requests are added it will become quite lengthy so maybe an alternative might be a better option.

New York is there now (see Bob's message a few months ago), even if doesn't quite function as desired.
Most of the drop-down lists seem to work OK once sufficient letters are typed in, but I do think that some are unneccesarily long because they are too specific - individual terminals within a port, for example, that some may select and others choose the general port name. Or the same ship passing the same place entered differently according to where the photographer is standing.
If it ever happens that Admin here can manage this list, it could probably do with some pruning as well as additions. A nice little job for a volunteer or two!

Please add the Sabbeta port (Russia), be on the Yamal peninsula, in the Gulf of Obskaya Guba. Already 4 months I put photos made in this port, and it in lists till now is not present.

I appreciate that it is frustrating that you are unable to add the location for these photos in the way that you should be able to (in some cases whole countries are missing!). Regrettably, no tool has yet been made available to us to edit the existing list, two years on from my previous message. We certainly have this still on our wish-list, but I do not think that Santa is about to surprise us.
