Hello
This afternoon i noticed they was holding the ships back at the entrance to Beerkanal, and futher out to sea there was the P6, the lifeboat, 3 pilot launches, a couple of RPA's and several tugs all this was about 4 - 5pm your time.

Tevergeefse zoektocht naar drenkeling

Reddingswerkers hebben vrijdagmiddag tevergeefs gezocht naar een drenkeling in de monding van de Nieuwe Waterweg.
Het slachtoffer was een opvarende van het vrachtschip Bulk Australia dat net bij Hoek van Holland de Maasmond uitvoer. Ooggetuigen hebben de man nog zwemmend gezien. Maar toen schepen van het Havenbedrijf in de buurt kwamen, was er niemand meer te zien.
Zeker elf schepen van onder meer de kustwacht, de KNRM, het Havenbedrijf en de zeehavenpolitie hebben naar de drenkeling gezocht. Ook hebben twee helikopters van de kustwacht en de loodsdienst naar de man uitgekeken.
Er is alleen een zwemvest gevonden, dat vermoedelijk van de drenkeling is. De kustwacht gaat er vanuit dat de man niet meer in leven is. Tijdens de zoektocht is het scheepvaartverkeer ter plaatse stilgelegd.

the only found his lifejacket , and stopped searching , there is no hope for him ;( , the weather was to bad , big waves

Some of our shipspotters have eyewitnessed the whole event. They are quiet upset.
