GALLANT or DE GALLANT

This sailing ship appears under both names on this site and I have seen other websites using both names including the "Port of London" site where she is at present listed as De Gallant.

Can anyone confirm her actual name?

Hi Bob,

I understand what you are saying but the name on on the vessel is clearly GALLANT, I would suggest that DE is an adjective suffix meaning in English THE.

Maybe our Dutch friends can confirm but I would leave it as just Gallant as on the vessel.
