Maybe it is my computer, or maybe not, but there seems to be a problem here.
The "News" box in the middle of the webpage is showing the same stories as last week.
What's going on?
This the third time i have asked this question, does anyone know? Or is it just that there are no new news stories worth posting?
Can someone help me out please?

I believe Ken replied to your last query on this, which you posted in the copyright thread. As he says, it is being looked at. Hopefully it will be fixed when there is time to do it.

Yes Peter the latest news is 15 days old.
Ken is working on it, appears to be a problem with the News suppliers not the Website.
Cheers.

In my view this news feature is a waste of space that could be better used for other things.
Many of the news stories featured are very frustrating in that you only get the first paragraph then are asked to log-on to a very-expensive, paid subsciption site to get the rest.
Also there are included quite a few unedited press releases about, for instance, some well known shipping company has bought a bit of gear from a company no-one has ever heard of or are interested in. These are often known in journalist circles as "PR Puff" stories and are simply a means whereby the likes of the aforementioned gear maker seeks to get a bit of free advertising from these so-called "news" stories. I used to call these less-than newsworthy articles "WFC Stories" (Who F****** Cares!).
If some good, interesting and topical news stories can't be sourced, why not simply put some more "Top Viewed" or Latest photo" items there instead?

Leave it with me, I will see what I can do, maybe it would be best to find something else to fill the gap.

Hi Ken
I agree with Bob, on the odd occasion I have tried to read the full story I have found a subscription is necessary - so as far as I am concerned it is a waste of space

sORRY GUYS BUT i HAVE TO DISAGREE WITH YOU! yES THERE ARE some STORIES WHERE YOU HAVE TO LOG ON TO A SITE AND PAY FOR IT, BUT THAT'S A PERSONAL CHOICE. iF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOG ON, THEN DON'T.
as FOR THE LATEST News feature, I like it and miss it, I for one would like to see it kept and updated regularly.

I use the Turkish shipping news
http://www.seanews.com.tr/index.php
if i want the latest up to date sea news... Iam yet to read a latest news story on our site.. I agree the space could be used for something other than News...My opinion means little as iam a newcomer to the best shipping site on the net...
Cheers

I found the News section useful and have missed not having available for the last few weeks. Would be a pity not to have it's resource available to site members who feel it has value.
