EMERGENCY services searched Southampton Water for two men after a tugboat capsized.

Solent Coastguard received a mayday call from a sailing boat after the tugboat, called Asterix, began sinking at Fawley refinery at 7.15pm.

Lifeboats, fire crews, ambulance and police rushed to the scene and one crew member was rescued from the water but they were unable to find the second man until 8.29pm.

South Central Ambulance Service confirmed that both crew members were rushed to Southampton General Hospital. At least one was being treated for hypothermia.
