don't be surprised if the Kalliope R.C doesn't make it out to Aust / NZ as she has been detained in Piraeus with serious technical issues and has already been replaced on short notice by MSC Shannon

Also on the Triple Star service, the next voyage of Maersk Bentonville has been rolled back a week, no mention of a fill-in so possible two blank sailings at time of peak NZ exports.

Would anyone be kind enough to identify the Spirit of Canterbury's stack insignia for me? Photo shows what looks like a silver or white seagull in flight on a black basic.
Thanks!

Hi Zouki

It is indeed a white seagull. This is the insignia for the New Zealand coastal shipping company. Pacifica Transport Group.

Thanks!

By the way - do any of you NZ types know Nigel Kirby? My wife and I were in NZ at the time he was married (1973) and we attended the ceremony - in Dunedin if I remember correctly. Long time and I was curious to know if he's still around.

The southbound voyage of the Hoechst Express (ex Kalliope R.C) has been cancelled entirely. The Maersk Bentonville will load on her last voyage in Auckland on 27 May. It appears that Maersk is abandoning the Auckland/Tauranga to Singapore/Tanjung Pelepas schedule.

The "Andes" ex Maersk Jena, ex Fesco Korea IMO 9399739 is to join Maersk's ECNA schedule, she is due Auckland 1st September. It looks like she is doing one southbound voyage only, as the schedule for her ends in Sydney.
