Afaik the distinction boys name / girls name has no bearing on whether the ships are chartered or not. All (or most) of the MSC 18,000 teu ships will be chartered from varous owners, such as BoComm Leasing and MSFL. However, sice they are long-term chartered on bareboat/drylease terms, the ships will be managed by MSC itself. Hence the names. Time chartered MSC vessels under third-party managment usually have geographic (city, country, river, etc) names - with some well-known exceptions.

From Maersk sailing schedules, it appears that MSC Oscar is due to call at Felixstowe on 09.03.15.

I do not wish to complicate matters after your nice discovery, but underneath three of these MSC-names, there are some project names "lurking:

MSC MAYA is known on the drawing board as OCEAN GENIUS
MSC SVEVA as OCEAN HONOR and
MSC CLARA as OCEAN TRIUMPH.

This can be derived from the names of the current registered owners.
They could still be delivered under slightly different ownering entities though.
