Pretty sure the reefer SUMMER WIND is on her way to Alang for scrapping. AIS gives destination as Inala ETA 25/8.
It's Almost Alang spelt backwards !

INALA is the UN/LOCODE for Alang, so it would appear so, though there has been no reports of a demolition sale.

Another one of probable interest, SD-14 "Nadeen" - IMO 7614771 - was beached at Gadani 15/8/2014

David,

She's not appeared yet on the GMS beaching report for Gadani. However, as a GMS ship, I wouldn't expect her to. Like most private enterprises in the shipping industry, they do like a little bit of secrecy now and again, so it wouldn't surprise me if she's already been beached.

Phil

Thx Phil re INALA .. Vessel had just rounded the Arabian peninsula and should now be on a direct course for Alang. I think we'll know for certain when she comes into AIS range next Wednesday
Will be interesting to see what happens to her 3 sisters laid up in the Fal. I was lucky enough to kayak around the 4 of them when they were all layed up 2 years ago

Re SUMMER WIND, IHS-Fairplay have her notated as "to be broken up" since 20/8, so they must have picked up a report from somewhere.
