The latest two vessels announce for the revised ANZEX service are CMA CGM Puget (IMO 9248124) and Kota Lihat (IMO 9628324). The latter vessel used to call here on the PIL South East Asia schedule.

Maersk Batur is to be replaced by the recently renamed Alexandra (IMO 9225407) on the Northern Star service. She had been trading here until recently as ANL Kiewa.

CMA CGM Auckland (IMO 9344564) is to replace CMA CGM Manet on the Pacific Direct Service (PAD). She completed two voyages on the service in 2007.

Spirit of Independence IMO 9319583 is laid up at Bledisloe Wharf in Auckland at present. She is apparently being re-delivered to her owners at the end of December. There is no detail yet on her replacement.

Hi Stephen,

Bit of a surprise for us as well.  Even us at Rorts of Dorkland aren't sure what's going on here.

Probably less related to services. Port of Tauranga tugs Te Matua & Kaimai are expected to head down to Timaru once the 2 new tugs arrive from China early next year. This will be mainly to do with the join merger between the ports of Tauranga and Timaru.

Ports of Auckland has a vessel loading at Ferguson Terminal on 7 January called "BC San Francisco". It has the same export voyage number as the "Stadt Koln". There is no IMO number mentioned for the vessel as yet, so I am wondering if it may be the new name for the "Spirit of Independence".
Anyone have any ideas?

When I saw her this morning she had scaffolding over the side of her bow so she may be in the process of being renamed now. The weather here is horrible (not ideal for painting new names on the hull of ships) Once it clears I will see what I can see.
